The Gate’s of Zion, Book One of the “Zion Chronicles” by Bodie Thoene
This well worn paperback hides a very exciting saga. We know what happened to the Jews under Hitler, but have you ever thought about the persecution of the Jews in Jerusalem during that time?
There is action, espionage and yes, even a little romance thrown in!
This one kept me reading late into the night!
Can’t wait to check out Book Two!
In This Mountain, by Jan Karon; seventh book in the “Mitford Series”. Many of you know of Father Tim and the sleepy township of Mitford. In the book, Father Tim is dealing with his own retirement and advancing years while his wife is winning awards and traveling the world. He feels useless and faces depression. See how he realizes that sometimes we are not on top of the mountain but can still live with peace inside the mountain. You’ll chuckle and, occasionally, wipe away a tear as you connect with everyday folks like you and observe their small triumphs.
The Right Thing, CMDR. Scott Waddle with Ken Abraham.

This book is a real-life accounting of the previously untold story of the collision of a nuclear submarine with a Japanese fishing vessel during an emergency maneuver in 2001. The captain tells it from his point of view in spite of adverse consequences to his career and his life. Courage in action!!
